Totem II

This ceramic sculpture is a part of a series of totem-like forms exploring femininity, memory and identity through stacked organic shapes. Built from rounded spheres, floral forms and flame-like elements, the hand-built pieces combine softness with vertical balance. Finished in glossy glazes of blush pink, coral, pale yellow, mint green and deep black, the sculptures carry a playful yet nostalgic presence. The stacked rounded forms evoke a remembrance of traditional Trachten, where layered silhouettes, ornament and structure are abstracted into contemporary sculptural compositions. Delicate flower-like tops and rising flame-like forms introduce stronger female characteristics, giving the pieces a sense of elegance, ritual and quiet strength.
